My Approach to Therapy

My philosophy as a psychotherapist is informed by my own experience with anxiety and burnout. I have learned that talking in a therapeutic space can feel like offloading weight from the mind, body, and soul. Therapy is a beautiful space that gives you a safe container to pause, acknowledge, and explore in the presence of a caring support person. I would be honoured to provide that space for you.

With 10 years of experience as a Critical Care Nurse, I have experience with suffering and I have developed the skills to be a compassionate source of support for you on your healing journey. Together, we will explore what causes your pain, and create opportunities for healing, at a pace that feels right for you.

If you are interested in group therapy, I also facilitate the Therapeutic Writing Groups at Seasons, where we use our pens, paper, and community to facilitate healing.

I primarily use a Humanistic and Compassion-focused approach in my work with clients.  The modalities I use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassionate Inquiry, Polyvagal Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Gestalt Therapy and Narrative Therapy. My priority is to collaborate with you to find an approach that feels most comfortable for you, to help bring healing into your life.​
